Our young people set out to create a modern heritage Bricksy Trail designed to attract new visitors to Gosport and invite those, plus the residents of the town to explore it in a fresh and interactive way. The Trail encourages people to discover locations showcasing vibrant repurposed Lego brick mosaics created by Bricksy, a talented, local Gosport artist.

Bricksy’s joyful and engaging creations surprise passers-by, inspiring them to stop, look closer and capture the moment – turning everyday spaces into points of curiosity and delight.

Working with Bricksy, a braille artist, a graphic designer, a professional photographer, a sound engineer and our young people, we have created an inclusive Trail for all to enjoy, that offers an accessible map with Braille and a QR Code audio trail.

Through the map, we have indicated some significant places around Gosport where the Bricksy mosaics are installed. These include cultural landmarks, parks, museums, historic buildings, modern architecture and other spots that have local meaning.

We have endeavoured to make these locations accessible for people with mobility challenges, including those with visual impairments and wheelchair users.

We believe The Bricksy Trail has a unique appeal of modern heritage street art, combined with accessibility.

We want to thank all those that have contributed to making this Trail a success, in particular to those that chose to fund this work: The National Lottery Heritage Fund, administered by Hampshire Cultural Trust and supported by Gosport Borough Council.

Sincere appreciation also goes to our ‘A-team’ who have brought this project to life: Level Up Gosport Chair, Project Designer & Manager: Mary Ive, Artist: Bricksy, Braille Artist: Mr Dot, Photographer: Andy Newbold, Designer: Dick Jones – J’CSL, Audio description and Sound Engineer: Steve Bond, Autek CIC, and – most importantly – to the young people of Level Up Gosport, especially Lewis Whitham, who designed the Bricksy Trail logo, whose creativity and enthusiasm have inspired this work.

We would also like to thank for the support received from Kate Webb (script writing), Arron Gumbrell (audio production), Poppy Lowles (voice actor) and Quay West Studios (audio recording).
