How Our Employment Assistance Works

Level Up Gosport has gained an excellent reputation within the local community for being reliable, friendly and hard-working – which is why our youth volunteers are asked to return to support events and activities year-on-year.

Young Person Joins Level Up Gosport

After initially joining us all young people get paired up with a volunteer organisation.

We spend time getting to know the young person and learning what their aspirations are. Our partner volunteer organisations are from many walks of life and provide a great opportunity for our young people to grow their skills in the working world.

They complete a program called the ‘STEP (Supported Transition Engagement Programme) with support from our partner OWL XL CIC. This helps support the young persons goals for progression.

Our WEXi Programme

After completing a period of volunteer work we work to pair the young person up with a work experience opportunity to match their goals and aspirations.

These programmes are in partnership with a large list of local companies and organisations. We will always make sure that the programme that the young person completes is completely suited to their skills and situation.

Moving into Employment

Once completing a period of Work Experience we prepare the young person to move into the world of employment.

This is through a number of different activities such as: advocating at Job Centres, supporting them in interviews and helping create a CV.

We will help them along the entire process and support where we are able.

After Achieving Employment

Even once the young persons employment goal is complete, we’re not going to disappear.

We’ll always be there to help support them with various things that may come up, be that a quick chat with themselves or a discussion with their employer we’re there to support them.
